Betrayal Part 2

"Mindy!! Mindy, please wake up, please, Mindy!" i sobbed. I couldn't believe what was happening. I entered the room and met with Mindy's lifeless body on the bed surrounded with blood. Her face was covered with bruises which meant she was severely beaten before being stabbed. Who could have done this to her. I was disconsolate, i couldn't believe what i was going through. I was telling myself it was a nightmare and that i was soon going to wake up.

"Please God, please let me wake up, please!" I said crying. It wasn't happening. This wasn't happening to me.

I numbly sat on the floor, my eyes filled with tears and my hands covered with Mindy's blood. I forgot everything for a while and just laid on the bed next to her. My whole body was trembling and tears finally stopped. I didn't have any more tears left to cry.

"Hey, are you at Mindy's yet?" Brandon said on the other end.

"Hello.."

"Luna, are you okay?"

"Luna, please i'm getting worried, what's going on?" Brandon asked in a shaky voice.

I wasn't able to talk. Every time i tried to form a sentence i ended up crying. I didn't know where to start. I wasn't ready to say it, i didn't want to say the word, I couldn't.

i shook my head in response as if Brandon could see me and i then remembered he was on the phone.

"Mindy is dead" i said in a soft and calm voice.

"What!?, are you alone? I'm coming right now!" He hung up without giving me a chance to say another word.

Today's was Mindy's funeral. I still couldn't believe she was gone, it was very soon, very very soon. It was soo unfair, she was young and full of life. Life wasn't fair with her, life wasn't fair with me! How was I supposed to move on without her. Who was going to cheer me up again!

"Hi Luna" Mrs Brown said.

"Hi Mrs Brown, i'm deeply sorry for your loss" i said humbly.

"I'm sorry too Luna, i know how close you were with my daughter" She said.

Mrs. Brown was a very a strong woman, but she was a mother too, no matter how much she wanted to hide the pain in her eyes, it was obvious she was struggling. She kept her head high and smiled at every guest. It wasn't easy losing a daughter, it wasn't easy losing Mindy. It will never be.

"Brandon?" Mrs. Brown asked.

"Yes, Mrs. Brown" Brandon replied. He was very uncomfortable as if he didn't want to be there. It almost seemed as if he was trying to hide himself from something or someone..

"Well, this is a surprise! where have you been? Mindy never mentioned you were back in town"

"Excuse me, uhh you guys know each other?" I almost chocked on my drink.

"Yeh of course, didn't Mindy tell you? Brandon met Mindy 2years back, and they were inseparable since then, i'm surprised she never told you!" Mrs. Brown said.

"What, how?" I asked completely shocked.

What the hell is going on!

I excused myself and left the room.

"Luna wait! i can explain" Brandon said running after me.

" Go on explain!" I said crossing my arms

" She was going to ruin everything Luna and i couldn't let her" Brandon said.

"What are you talking about?" I asked.

"When we met, i was already in a relationship with Mindy, I didn't want to say anything because i knew you wouldn't have let me in nor give me a chance to know you more"

"You bet i wouldn't" I exclaimed.

" Are you even hearing yourself? You knew Mindy was my bestfriend and yet you chose to play us both?"

" Is this why Mindy suddenly disappeared when you came?"

"I don't understand" I said almost out of breath, i didn't have any energy left. Everything was so vague.

"She was threatening to tell you everything and i couldn't let her" Brandon said crying.

"What!?" I was totally confused, I had no clue on what was going on.

"The day Mindy died, i was at her house. I went to see her to try and fix things between us but it didn't go as planned. We were fighting and she was threatening to call you and tell you everything and i just couldn't let her, i couldn't. I love you so much to let you go just like that."

"I found myself on top of her and with blood on my hands, i didn't want to do it, I'm so soorry i didn't want anything that happened." Brandon said sobbing.

"You killed her?" I asked with a shaky voice, my eyes filled with tears of rage.

"I'm soo sorry, i love you Luna please!" Brandon said.

Brandon had killed Mindy, He had killed her in the name of the disgusting and pathetic Love he claimed he had for me. This wasn't just an ordinary love story. In other stories you get happy endings. In my story all I got was being stabbed in the back by those that i loved. In my story i didn't get the chance to dream of a happy future life, all i got was nightmares that i wished to wake up from.

In my story i was betrayed in the name of love.
