The lunch

Saturday afternoon around 4.30pm i was supposed to get lunch with Mindy, my bestfriend. Me and her were friends for like forever, it’s like she was there my whole life, i haven’t known a life without her. We have been through everything together, grade school, high school, college and my first heartbreak, basically everything..

“Hey girl, are you ready for the greatest day of your entire life?!” Mindy ran through my bedroom screaming dramatically like the drama queen she was.

“Mindy!! Stop it, why do you always dramatize everything, it is only lunch. I said rolling my eyes to her.

"I am not being dramatic” Mindy said frowning. “Now let’s go before we get late”. She said while putting some lipstick on.

I never liked make-up, I always looked old whenever I applied it but Mindy on the other hand was the total opposite, I always wondered how we became friends because we were totally different. She was the popular girl and i was just me, a nerd that wore glasses and never went outside because she hated people.

I was never good at socializing, i would spend a whole day in my room watching 3seasons of the magicians and eating chips and that would be a perfect day.

“You are going dressed like that?” Mindy said almost shocked.

“What’s wrong with this?” I asked not really giving it too much attention

“You are wearing pants and a hoodie at lunch? What the hell is wrong with you!!

“Stop it Mindy it is just lunch and plus I’m going with you, it’s not like I’m going on a date or something, why do you always have to exaggerate everything?” I said rolling my eyes to her

Mindy is the kind of person that would make me roll my eyes a hundred times a day minimum!

“Whatever, just hurry” she scoffed and walked towards the door.

After a very very very and i say very long drive, we were finally there at the Harvey Restaurant. I have to admit it was a very beautiful place to eat, you could hear the laughs and feel the cold breeze and the smell of the delicious plates from outside, it was a classy and a very sophisticated place for someone like me.

We entered and were met with the manager who gave us a warm welcome and escorted us to our table.

“So how do you see the place?” Mindy asked giggling like a little child

“ It’s nice but don’t you think it’s a little too much?” I asked innocently and she shot me one of her dead glances then I knew i had to shut up and say thank you for bringing me to such a classy place

We finished earlier than expected and Mindy had to leave for an emergency meeting at her work so i had to walk since she had taken the car.

As i was walking to my apartment, it was very cold outside and i was thankful for the hoodie i was wearing.

I passed by a bakery and I couldn’t resist the smell of the delicious cakes so i went inside and ordered. After i was done and heading outside, a man accidentally or intentionally bumped into me and I dropped all of the cakes i had ordered on the floor.

“What the hell is wrong with you, can’t you see where you are going?!” I snapped at him angrily

“Jeez you are those kind of girls” he said amused not even sorry about what he just did.

“Excuse you? What the hell do you mean?” I asked seriously while crossing my arms.

“Nothing, never mind” he smirked and i suddenly felt blood boiling through me, i was about to explode because of this guy.

He was a jerk, totally different from the way he looked. He was tall with black hair and hazel eyes, he looked intimidating and serious but none of that were important cause i was angry.

“ i can drive you home and buy you plenty of cakes as a way of saying sorry" he said.

"Jeez you are those kind of guys" I exclaimed dramatically.

"Touché" He chuckled

”I’m Brandan by the way” he said

“Luna” i said

”Like the moon?” he asked

”Yep, my parents were obsessed by the moon so they decided to call their first born like her lol, that’s totally normal “ i said not sure why I said all that.

The Date

The following day, when i was getting ready to leave for work, i saw a box with a small letter on it. I picked it up and read the note.

"Cakes and Cookies filled with Love, ~Brandan"

I smiled at the note. What in the world was happening to me, i never smiled like literally never ever smiled at anything much less at anyone but here i was smiling as if i was high on drugs.

”Get it together Luna, they are just cakes that he owed you, please do not overthink this kind gesture “ I said and kept repeating the same words over and over again.

*Door knocking*

"Mindy! ughh, Mindy open the door!" I shouted lazily while covering myself with my huge bed cover to keep feeling it's warmth.

"We are 10am, what are you still doing in bed? Mindy asked.

"It's Saturday so I have the right to wake up whenever I want" I said

Mindy always stayed over the weekend, i'm not sure why but she always told me it was a way for "me not to feel alone"

"I didn't hear the magic word" Mindy said.

"ahh would you just open the door!" I exclaimed angrily.

"Nope" Mindy said nonchalantly.

I got off the bed and ran towards the door because my bestfriend was being a pain in the ass again!

I was met with a familiar face when i opened the door

"Oh shit" I murmured to myself

"I thought of a date, there will be plenty of cakes" Brandan said grinning

"You know we only met once, right?" I asked

" Yes but-" He started, "So don't you think it's kinda creepy to ask out a girl you only met once?" I asked raising an eyebrow.

"Well i like you and there's nothing wrong with that, right? He asked looking straight in my eyes.

Those eyes that looks deeper into your soul

Those eyes that melts your heart, every time they look at you

Those eyes and the greatest part of all is that they belong to him

Fit perfectly on him, they were made for HIM.....

"I-Okayy" I didn't know what to say, so i closed my eyes and crossed my fingers and hoped i didn't regret what i was going to say next.

"Well i guess we could do that" i said

As much as i didn't want to admit it, i liked him too, a little bit tooo much for my liking but it was weird, it wasn't like me to fall that easily for a guy i just met, a stranger.

*Two months Later*

Things were going well between me and Brandan, I loved him and I was smiling and giggling just by the thought of him. We were in a relationship, he had made me the happiest woman. I was so busy with him that i haven't checked on Mindy. She basically vanished for almost a month and she started avoiding my calls, i didn't know what was going on so i went to her place to talk to her and try to understand what was going on.

The Betrayal

"Hey Mindy, are you there?" I shouted as i entered her house, it was a huge house so she could have been anywhere. I went upstairs in her room and was shocked at what i saw.
